The traditional Guernsey sweater
The Guernsey Sweater was born in the Channel Islands as a way for seafarers and fisherman to keep warm in cold, raw conditions. The oiled worsted wool is warm, hard-wearing and resists seaspray due to the tight-knit and lanolin that remains in the jumper. If you are looking for a refined city sweater, this is NOT it, this is a rugged garment that was suitable for Admiral Nelson and his Navy.
Still knit on the Channel Island of Guernsey every sweater is finished by hand, the name of the women who approved your sweater is hand written on each tag.
This Guernsey is a piece of living history, it is the real deal.
Please note, Guernsey sweaters are are worn tight in Britain. Therefore, they are a slim fit, if you do not like your sweaters tight please order a size or two up. For sizing questions please email or call us.
